From 21 Nov – 31 Dec , Checkpoint ushered in the gifting season by celebrating artists through The Unstoppable Arts Campaign!

In 2020, freelancers were one of the groups most hard-hit by the pandemic, with sudden cancellations of live performances, exhibitions, and classes. Yet, they continued to come up with new ways to sustain their livelihoods, to create, and to keep the arts accessible to everyone. With The Unstoppable Arts Campaign, Checkpoint Theatre was proud to showcase the tenacity of the creative community and invited the public to help build its resilience in these difficult times. 

Our exciting line-up included photography workshops, child-friendly nature activities, fitness classes, and many more! By pledging, you created new gigs for our freelance partners, who received the full fee for their work. All other proceeds and pledges for theatre lots went directly towards empowering Checkpoint Theatre to continue developing original, multi-disciplinary stories that resonate with you.
