Checkpoint Theatre is delighted to announce auditions for a new children’s show that will open our 25th Anniversary Season. The Potato Club is written by Associate Artist Lucas Ho, directed by Associate Artist Adib Kosnan, and with dramaturgy by Associate Artistic Director Faith Ng.
Every child knows what it feels like to be left out. The Potato Club is a new children’s play that transforms this childhood experience into a joyful theatrical adventure about friendship, empathy and belonging.
Actors should have the ability to deliver engaging and dynamic performances, speaking fluent English and Singlish. They should have a comfort with and aptitude for contemporary devising, physical, and vocal performance techniques, to play female characters of 5 or 9 years old.
We are looking to cast performers for the following roles:
Masha, female, aged 9. Maisie’s older sister who is in the Potato Club.
Maisie, female, aged 5. Masha’s younger sister who wants to join the Potato Club.
Alice, female, aged 9. Masha’s friend.
Anya, female, aged 5. A mysterious new friend whom Maisie meets.
Actors must be able to commit to the following dates:
Workshops: Mon 04 Jan – Fri 08 Jan 2027
Rehearsals: Wed 17 Feb – Thu 01 Apr 2027
Production: Fri 02 Apr – Sun 18 Apr 2027
