What I Love About You is Your Attitude Problem
Checkpoint Theatre presented an exciting series of 24 text-based performance events over 12 hours. Curated by Huzir Sulaiman, the team transformed the Arts House into a celebration of words and the human connection. What I Love About You is Your Attitude Problem featured new and specially commissioned works consisting of new Singapore plays, poetry, prose, and visual arts.
Artists such as Pooja Nansi, Brendon Fernandez and Cyril Wong presented diverse works of art that were well-received by the audience. Joint Artistic Director, Claire Wong also directed a dramatized reading of her own play, Escape To Batam. Among the performances were 12 Easy Bitches by Becca D’Bus; Drawing A Reading: A Different Sky – a durational novel reading by Meira Chand and visual artist Jimmy Ong; and Speed Hating by Joses Ho and Lucas Ho that set out to connect people through the power of shared dislikes. What I Love About You is Your Attitude Problem centred on the challenges and pleasures of the journey of the self, keeping the crowd constantly engaged through the night.
