In a fast and ever-changing world, what stays untouched? In the end, there’s always Sholay.
This is Raghav’s journey: from his boyhood in the small Indian town of Ambala to the complexities of life in the metropolis of Singapore. It is also a personal retelling of the 1975 Bollywood classic, Sholay, with the exploits of its outlaw heroes forming the backdrop of this insightful and funny coming-of-age story. Deeply entwined, both worlds resonate and contrast, where the realities of change and loss are juxtaposed against the colourful, larger-than-life world of the film.
Written by NUS undergraduate Shiv Tandan, under the mentorship of Huzir Sulaiman, The Good, The Bad And The Sholay deftly captures the joys and sorrows of growing up and the changes that come with each stage of life. The production was chosen as one of the top 5 plays in 2011 by the Flying Inkpot.
First produced in 2011 by Checkpoint Theatre with NUS Stage.
